PRE EVENT

  • Kindly check your assigned start time before heading out. Warriors avoid confusion at all cost.
  • Train like the wind! Warriors train to get in shape. Besides, being physically prepared is good practice, fun and a surefire way to accomplish your goals.
  • A warrior always knows her gear. Pack your bag the day before. Bring only what you need. We have a list of recommended items below.
  • Warriors are never late. Arrive at the venue at least 1 hour before the start time.
  • Sleep and eat like a warrior. Amazonians always get a good night's rest and eat well the day before the race.
PACKING YOUR BAG

An Amazonian Warrior packs like a pro.
Here's a checklist to help you get started:

  • SCORE AMAZONIAN RACE Entry Ticket
  • Valid Identification (NRIC/ID/Passport)
  • Waterproof sunscreen lotion
  • Towels
  • A change of clothes and dry shoes / slippers for after the race
  • Storage bags (for soiled clothing)
  • Cash for food/drinks and merchandise

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do not race with wallets, car keys, iPod, sunglasses, cell phone, wedding rings, or any other valuable items. Check them in at our prepared lockers (Amazonian Race Bags) or leave them at home.

AN AMAZONIAN WARRIOR'S ARMOUR
WARDROBE DO'S AND DON'TS

SHIRTS / TOPS

  • Do wear comfortable clothing - the kind that makes you feel free to move around in.
  • Don't wear clothes that weigh you down or absorb water (i.e cotton).
  • Do invest in a good compression shirt, or if you don't have one, a thin, long or short-sleeved shirt works wonderfully.
  • Do avoid cotton. Cotton tends to cause friction, causing the skin to chafe.

SHORTS OR PANTS

  • Do invest in a good pair of moisture-wicking compression tights (long or short). Any fitted tights would also work. This helps reduce friction and chafing.
  • Do avoid pants with pockets so that they don't collect extra mud and debris along the course.
  • Do make sure there are good elastic bands / draw strings / strong Velcros on whatever you wear so that your warrior pants stay on.

SHOES

  • Do invest in a good pair of running shoes to provide the adequate traction needed for muddy, uneven terrain. Warriors avoid falling.
  • Do choose running shoes that are light-weight and water resistant. If that's unavailable, get shoes that drain easily when wet.
  • Do not use regular running shoes because they can be unstable and will not provide enough traction in wet, uneven, muddy terrain.

SOCKS

  • Do wear thin, light-weight socks.
  • Do avoid cotton because it retains too much water and may get uncomfortable when wet. Toe socks are also great for avoiding this uncomfortable-wet feeling.
  • Notice our obsession with compression? Yes compression socks are another great alternative. They protect your shins, help prevent calf cramps, and help prevent stones from getting in between your socks and skin. Do invest.

UNDERWEAR

  • What's on the inside is just as important as what's on the outside. For this do wear spandex underwear or compression shorts, and as always - avoid cotton.

Note: If you plan to use expensive compression shorts or lingerie they will get dirty and may retain mud stains.

GLOVES

  • Optional but recommended.

EVENT DAY

UPON ARRIVAL
  • Once at the Race Venue, be filled with the Amazonian spirit and let out your battlecry - "ROAR!"
  • Next, proceed to the registration counters.
  • Fill out the Waiver Form.
  • Show your ID and registration form and pick up your entry wristband.
  • Hand in your signed Waiver.
  • Drop your bag at the Baggage Drop-off area. Make sure everything you bring fits into one bag.
  • We strongly suggest you use the toilet before you start.
  • Get ready and gather at the Start Line at least 15 minutes before your assigned start time for a safety briefing and warm-up session.
FLAG OFF
  • Run like a warrior.
  • Stay hydrated at all times.
  • The best warriors work as a team.
  • Be careful, vigilant and alert - this avoids injury.
  • Smile, have fun and roar your way to victory.
POST EVENT
  • Pick up your Finisher Tee and Victory Bracelet.
  • Pick up your checked bag from the Baggage Drop-off.
  • Wash off all that mud and get squeaky clean.
  • Fuel up on food at the SCORE Village.
